“Except in this ignorant and material century, men have always worn precious stuffs and beautiful colours as well as women.” – Wilkie Collins

Philip Crangi
I do not understand why men find jewelry effeminate. A diamond ring is going to be awkward for everyone, but a tarnished and worn ring adds a touch of character. Bare hands are dull, especially since most men don’t do manual labor nowadays to add the sign of masculinity to themselves. Nothing else better demonstrates one’s masculinity than being able to break free of modern stigmas such as “wearing jewelry is gay” (ignorance at its simplest form).
“From the Mayans, to the Native Americans, the men of Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, most African tribes, Polynesia inhabitants, men always wore, alongside tattoos, and other body ornaments, jewelry.” - Nicolas Mekchoudi
What’s amusing is that a ring on a man’s fingers (other than wedding band) is not generally accepted, but pierced ears on a man are? The latter is much more feminine than a piece of cold, hard metal.
I’m trying to find something to wear on my wrist. My rosary is getting quite lonely by itself. Looking at watches and leather bracelets to start things off. I’m sure people will have their own opinions when seeing something other than a bold-faced watch on my wrist but screw them. It’s really ignorant to think that only women can wear rings and bracelets and all that. That mentality promotes sexism because of the “women only” belief.
A leather bracelet will be a nice personal present for my transition into adulthood. I already saw one I like, so I just need time to buy it. Maybe I’ll get it on my birthday, not days before or after like the norm.
